Los Angeles: Voila, the Crescendo!
Are you familiar with that feeling of anticipation that heralds the way to a precise moment when, with your own eyes, you will witness something spectacular or extraordinary for the first time? An object, a structure, an event, perhaps manmade or of divine creation; something only read about or viewed through the experiences and images captured by someone else that will soon be yours. Around the corner an opportunity to say “I was there! I saw that!”
And then, with mounted anticipation, voila, the crescendo! That exact moment in time when your goal is reached and the purpose reveals itself. It may appear abruptly when turning a corner, or unroll gracefully and patiently like a morning sunrise. It can bring about a feeling and atmosphere of stillness, and absolute wonderment, or excitement, joy and celebration.
They may stem from simple curiosity or a spirit of discovery and what drives one individual may obviously not drive another. For some it could be that split second when a new and long awaited culinary creation first hits their taste buds, sending an immediate response of delight throughout their entire being, or it might be when the music plays, the curtains rise, the stage set is uncovered and the characters open dialogue to a new performance you were looking forward to.
The pictures shared today are from episodes of “my anticipated” moments around Los Angeles. Culminating moments from places and occurrences I sought out for an experience of enjoyment, enrichment, peacefulness or amazement and in all instances, appreciation. Appreciation for intricate details manifested through someone’s vision and ideas, or the appreciation of an every day miracle from a new location, such as a sunrise or sunset. Recorded here are just a few shots from places and moments I had only seen or heard of second hand that I can now say “I was there! I saw that!”

Well, truly amazing photos. And, I’m sure I’ll never see the places at dawn that you described so seeing them through your eyes and lens lets me vicariously experience the thrill you had it witnessing these moments.
Can’t wait for the next instalment!

Richard….these pictures are awesome. You have talked of your early morning explorations, and these are great moments to catch and save, as they are fleeting.
